Wall-modeled large-eddy simulation integrated with synthetic turbulence generator for multiple-relaxation-time lattice Boltzmann method

The synthetic turbulence generator (STG) lies at the interface of Reynolds averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) simulation and large-eddy (LES). This paper presents an STG for multiple-relaxation-time lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) framework high friction numbers, with consideration near-wall modeling. Reichardt wall law, in combination a force-based method, is used to model field. wall-modeled LES results are compared turbulent channel flow simulations Reτ=1000,2000,5200 different resolutions. demonstrate good agreement direct numerical simulation, adaptation length 6–8 boundary layer thickness. has wide range potentials hybrid RANS/LES-LBM related applications numbers.
